KPMG administrators to failed building firm

Chris Pole and Richard Philpott of KPMG have been appointed joint administrators to construction specialist Hilton Building Services Ltd, which has ceased to trade with the loss of 63 jobs after experiencing a sharp fall in demand.

The company, which has been established for over one hundred years, provides a range of mechanical and electrical contracting services to clients across the UK and employed 73 staff at its offices in Nottingham and London.

Chris Pole, joint administrator and restructuring director at KPMG, said: 'Due to the contractual nature of the business it has not been possible to continue to trade in administration. Unfortunately this has resulted in us making a number of redundancies immediately upon appointment. Over the next few days we will be assessing whether a number of the remaining contracts can be transferred to alternative contractors to preserve value.'

Other associated companies Hilton Cannon Electrical Ltd and Hilton Bodill (Construction) Ltd have not entered administration and continue to trade as normal.
