KPMG has announced a strategic partnership with online accounting software company Xero to provide cloud-based accounting and tax services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
The service will allow KPMG to provide SMEs with online accounting and tax services, such as accounts, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and corporate tax. Interested businesses will be able to sign up to the KPMG services from May.
This is part of a drive by the Big Four firm to build up its SME client base.
The deal does not include any equity stake. It follows the opening of a permanent KPMG representation in London’s Tech City and the creation of a series of digital alliances, including a partnership with Chelsea Apps Factory announced in January and support of the Indian Angel Network.
