Changes to employment law

A statement issued by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) outlines new regulations planned for the period January to June 2014. BIS confirmed that the Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 would come into force on 31 January 2014 (Accountancy, Nov 2013, p57).

However, the change to the obligation on the transferor to provide the transferee with 'employee liability information' 28 days rather than 14 days before the transfer, is subject to transitional provisions, and will apply only to transfers taking place three months later.
