Stronger dismissal protection for women on maternity leave

As the Employment Rights Bill ping pongs between the House of Lords and Commons, the government consults on four definite rule changes

The four consultations focus on enhanced dismissal protections for pregnant women and new mothers, leave for bereavement, including pregnancy loss, new duty to inform workers of their right to join a trade union, and further rights for trade unions.

Maternity rights

The Employment Rights Bill introduces legislation which will make it unlawful to dismiss pregnant women, mothers on maternity leave, and mothers who return to work.
