London bookkeepers at most risk of AI automation

With ‘high and consistent exposure to generative AI across tasks’ bookkeepers top the automation risk list followed by accountants, with young professionals most vulnerable

Around 6% of London’s work force, equal to 313,000 jobs, are at most risk of automation as ‘most tasks could be replaced using current generative AI capabilities’, according to a report into the impact of AI by the Greater London Authority (GLA).

The report titled ‘London’s workforce exposure to generative AI’ reviewed hundreds of jobs and their exposure to automation based on research by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

Topping the risk list was bookkeepers along with payroll mangers, wage clerks, finance officers, and credit controllers.
