Make accounting rules more relevant

Investors are more interested in accounting rules being relevant to investment decisions than in their convergence with the ultimate purpose of creating a single set of global rules. Investment association, the CFA Institute, polled 16,000 investment professionals who indicated that improving current standards would be more useful to their investment decision-making processes than reducing complexity or convergence. The opinion of the investment community comes as the US Security and Exchange Commission considers early adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards next year.
