MPs call for single pensions regulator

A single regulator and independent commission is needed to protect  pension savers from fraud and mis-selling following the introduction of the newflexible drawdown pension rules next month, according to a report from the Work and Pensions Committee

Responsibility for pension regulation is currently shared between the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and The Pensions Regulator (TPR). From April 2015, new regulations will allow pensioners greater flexibility in the use of pension pots, including abolishing the requirement to take an annuity.
