HM Revenue and Customs is to replace the current adjudicator Dame Barbara Mills with Judy Clements OBE, who has been appointed to start her role in April 2009. Clements was selected by the HMRC through an external recruitment service and will be leaving her current position as director of the independent police complaints commission's customer services and communication directorate. The adjudicator position will see Clements assessing complaints made by customers which could be not resolved by using internal procedure. She will also be looking into complaints made to the valuation office agency, office of the public guardian and the insolvency service. Mike Clasper who is the chairman of HMRC said: 'Ms Clements brings with her a wealth of relevant experience including her time with the IPCC'.
