Pamela Urvoy, 55, of Blackburn, was jailed for four years at Preston Crown Court after she abused her position of trust, stealing £203,500 from her uncle, then buying a house and putting it solely in her name.

Urvoy’s uncle suffered a serious stroke in 2008 leaving him unable to live an independent life, the court heard how before the stroke he earned thousands from stocks and shares.

Following discussions with other members of the family, it was decided he would move into Urvoy’s home, which was at the time in Padihamn, north of Manchester.

In 2013 a new property was purchased in Garsden Avenue, Blackburn, for £230,000. Urvoy told her uncle it would be a joint venture between them and ownership would be split.
