Lancashire fraudster who fled to Tenerife after stealing £300,000 from retired accountant she treated as ‘cash cow’, jailed following extradition to UK
Pamela Gwinnett (pictured), 63, of Adlington, Lancashire, has been jailed for six years and two months after defrauding 89-year-old retired accountant of £300,000 and then spending 16 months on the run in Tenerife.
Gwinnett was originally sentenced to serve six years in October last year. After 16 months on the run, two months were added to her sentence.
The sentencing follows Gwinnett’s escape from the UK in April 2025, when she fled to Tenerife while on bail awaiting trial.
Gwinnett was only tracked down to Tenerife after a Sky News team started tracing her whereabouts on the island. She was then extradited back to the UK last week for her court appearance yesterday.
