Overtime and holiday pay: what the ruling means for business

Since October 1998 the Working Time Regulations have given workers in the UK an entitlement to paid annual leave. These Regulations were passed to give effect to the European Working Time Directive which required member states to provide a statutory right to paid holidays as a health and safety measure.
