Pensions dashboard rollout put on hold

The long-awaited pensions dashboard project has been delayed due to IT problems related to linking individual pension accounts

The dashboard was due to launch to the public in late 2024, while pension providers were due to start uploading pensions data from September.

The government has announced that the plan is now halted as the launch date is under review and an update on the timetable will be made this summer. The idea was first put to then Chancellor George Osborne in 2017 and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) first consulted on the concept of a pensions dashboard in 2018 when the idea was put out to public consultation.

Pensions dashboards would allow individuals to view personalised information about their pensions, including state pension entitlement and lost pension pots, in one place online.
