Northeast based firm Clive Owen & Co, has hired Kevin Shotton as director with a brief to focus on the corporate and owner-managed business. He has particular knowledge of regulated companies, IFRS and transport companies. Shotton trained at the firm, before leaving in 2005 to join Ernst & Young in Newcastle.
Rothmans has promoted Julian Sims to director at the Havant office, one of 13 offices across the South. He joined the firm earlier in 2012 as senior tax manager and has ACA and CTA qualifications.
Property company Development Securities has appointed Marcus Shepherd as group finance director. He joins the property developer from Aviva where he was finance director in the global real estate division since January 2009.
In expansionist mode, Moore Stephens has strengthened its team with the appointment of Chinese and Asia Pacific transactions' specialist, Marty Lau. Previously a director at Crowe Clark Whitehill, Lau has extensive experience in UK, international and cross-border transactions. He qualified in 2000 in the UK.
Abdulwahid Aboo has been appointed as a member of the Global Forum for Audit and Assurance at ACCA, where he is a Fellow. Aboo is currently managing partner of AAC Kenya, part of the Russell Bedford International network of firms. AAC Kenya was set up in 1980 as Abdulwahid Aboo & Company.
