The Wesleyan Assurance Society, the financial services specialist for doctors, dentists, lawyers and teachers, has appointed Keith Nicholson to its non-executive board of directors. Nicholson recently retired as a partner at KPMG, and has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and retail banking sectors. He was also a member of the Auditing Practices Board for six years, and has worked with the Financial Services Authority. Aberdeen based accountancy firm Hall Morrice has created a senior analyst position in its corporate finance team. Victoria Gammie has taken on the role, which will see her specialising in finance raising for clients and playing a key role in the mergers and acquisitions deals. A new fraud investigations team comprising forensic service experts has been set up by MCR, the corporate insolvency and restructuring firm. Headed by Graham Edwards and Victoria Butler, the team uses analytical software to make quick analysis of all company information to make clear and concise reports, tables and charts to support the findings of their investigations. Edwards has nearly a decade's experience specialising in gangmaster fraud and insolvency cases, while Butler most recently worked at a specialised investigation firm, dealing in insolvency investigations and forensic cases on behalf of banks, HM Revenue & Customs and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. Roy Farmer has been made corporate finance partner at Midlands accountancy firm Dains. He has 16 years' experience in accountancy, venture capital and corporate finance. RSM Bentley Jennison has appointed a new partner and national head of wealth advisory in the form of Vinodh Josh. He joined the firm four years ago during the acquisition of Robson Rhodes and will be responsible for the team delivering the firm's wealth advisory services on a national basis.

Fleur Holden has boosted the number of partners at Clement Keys to 13. Holden, who joined the firm last year, graduated from Leeds University before going on to train with Grant Thornton and qualifying as an ACA in 2000. The UK subsidiary of Australian specialist recruitment group Ambition, Witan Jardine, has appointed James Ash as managing director of its finance and accountancy business. He will also take on responsibility for the Global Ambition business that operates out of London and Sydney. Marcus Leek has been appointed finance director of Valassis, a coupon and voucher services provider. A chartered accountant, Leek trained in industry, and brings a wealth of commercial experience to the role, having worked in retail, telecoms and technology.
