BDO has promoted Laurie Hannant to head up the East Midlands practice based out of Nottingham, replacing Andrew Mair, who has stepped down after five years. Hannant joined the firm in 2019 as an audit partner leading the firm’s consumer services market. She will lead a team of 90 staff and will focus on growing the regional practice. Mair will remain with the firm as an audit partner.

EY has appointed five partners to its UK&I corporate finance team. Jeremy Ellis, Amit Dewan and Mauro Fiorucci join the energy & infrastructure corporate finance practice, while Jack Dessay and Maurice Harbison join the TMT corporate finance team. Ellis brings 25 years’ infrastructure sector experience to EY having spent the last decade with Investec Bank. He will be responsible for M&A and equity advisory for the infrastructure sector. Dewan will lead EY’s capital and debt advisory practice for the infrastructure sector. He joins from UniCredit. Fiorucci brings over 20 years’ experience in M&A, advising corporate and private equity clients on strategic and cross-border transactions, most recently at ABN AMRO Bank. Previously at Citigroup in the US, Dessay has over 20 years’ investment banking experience and will work alongside Anna Faelten and Markus Salolainen to co-lead the EY TMT corporate finance team. Harbison has over 20 years investment banking and corporate finance advisory experience and joins from investment bank Bryan Garnier.
