KPMG in the UK has appointed Trevor Jones as head of its insurance practice. He replaces Simon Ranger, who will now focus on leading the vice chairs’ office. Jones has over 30 years of insurance experience and has spent 24 of those with KPMG. He previously led the firm’s UK actuarial practice and his extensive experience across the insurance industry means he has a deep understanding of the current issues impacting UK and global insurers. He will lead KPMG’s team serving clients across the insurance spectrum, including insurers, reinsurers and brokers.
BDO has strengthened its tax expertise with the appointment of a new partner. Lisa Oakes joins BDO as a tax partner with a specific focus on the real estate sector. She joins having spent over 10 years advising funds and other institutions with real estate investments. In her role at BDO, Oakes will advise businesses across the full range of real estate sub-sectors with a particular focus on the operational real estate sector including retirement and residential sectors. She will be based in London and joins from KPMG.
