In this week’s accountancy career moves, partner promotions at Simmons Gainsford, BDO, KPMG and Mazars, plus legal boost for Carey Olsen, and CFO for Cuemath

Accountancy firm Simmons Gainsford LLP has promoted Jane Atherton to partner, effective from 1 January 2022. She initially joined SG LLP’s East Sussex operation in 2009, working her way up to become director of the firm’s bookkeeping and business outsourcing service Fl3xiBooks following its launch in early 2017. She will remain a director in that business.

BDO LLP has strengthened its financial services team in Scotland with the appointment of a new partner. Chris Meyrick joins BDO’s Scottish team as a partner focusing on the financial services sector and audit. He has spent more than 20 years in the industry, with experience supporting a wide range of businesses ranging from large multinationals to smaller, owner managed businesses. He will be based across Glasgow and Edinburgh and joins from PwC. The firm has appointed and promoted five new dedicated financial services partners and now operates as a team of almost 600 people.
