In this week’s accountancy career moves, partner promotions at BDO and Tilney Smith & Williamson, new hires at KPMG, Mercer & Hole and Carpenter Box, and regulatory head for ICAEW

 

Tilney Smith & Williamson, the wealth management and professional services group, has appointed Adam Smith as a partner in its professional services business with a remit to build a new US/UK transatlantic tax team at the firm. Smith is a dual qualified US and UK tax adviser specialising in advising US-connected individuals and businesses in all aspects of cross-border US and UK tax issues. He joins Tilney Smith & Williamson from Blick Rothenberg where he was a partner for three years. Prior to that Adam co-founded Westleton Drake, during which time he headed-up the firm’s entrepreneurial private client team and latterly the international private client practice.  

BDO LLP has appointed a partner to its team in the Thames Valley with the hire of Ros Payne, who joins as a tax partner. She has over 18 years’ experience advising clients on all aspects of tax transactions and her expertise includes due diligence, tax structuring and share purchase agreements. In her role at BDO she will support transactionally active businesses in and around the Thames Valley to execute their transaction strategy. She has significant experience in advising international private equity-backed tech businesses, institutional investors and large corporates. She joins from EY.
