People in the news: BDO, RSM, Wright Vigar, Kingswood Allotts

In this week’s accountancy career moves, partner promotions and hires at BDO, Wright Vigar, Kingswood Allotts, KPMG, RSM, Evelyn Partners, Northern Accountants, IFAC

BDO has named partner Paul Ayres as chair of BDO’s global private client services, replacing Jeff Kane who has recently retired from BDO USA. He is currently UK head of private client and has been a partner in the UK firm for 17 years. In his new role, Ayres will work with regional heads in the Americas, Europe and Asia to formulate and deliver BDO’s global strategic priorities for its private client service offering.

Wright Vigar has appointed James Sewell and Kevin Shaw as joint managing directors. They take over from Pete Harrison who steps down after five years as MD. Sewell joined the firm in 2007 and became a director in 2010. He is responsible for teams at the Sleaford and Lincoln offices, and is experienced in all areas of business advice from tax planning, growing a successful business, to sales, mergers and acquisitions. Shaw became a director in 2013 and his specialities focus around medium and large owner-managed businesses, particularly in the construction and property development sectors. He is responsible for the Nottingham office.
