This week's news of professional moves in the sector include a trio of partners promoted and appointed at BHP, PKF Francis Clark appoints a corporate finance director, McLintocks promotes one of its tax advisers to director
BHP has gained three partners, Tony Chapman, Ann Brown and Andy Haigh, through promotions and appointments. Chapman has joined BHP to lead the firm’s risk services practice providing forensic accounting, fraud and financial risk management. He has more than 30 years’ experience of litigation support , financial investigations, corporate finance and financial risk management activities from previous roles in major accounting firms and from within an international law firm. Brown has worked within the firm’s audit and accounts team in Bradford for the past 21 years. She specialises in retail, recruitment agencies and manufacturing and is responsible for the on-going annual compliance of audit and accounts preparation. Haigh specialises in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance and joined BHP’s Leeds office five years ago from a national firm.
PKF Francis Clark has appointed Paul Stout as corporate finance director who will lead the firm’s corporate finance team in Dorset and Hampshire. Stout joins from Grant Thornton and has previously worked closely with banks, lawyers and venture capitalists to complete high quality transactions.
McLintocks, chartered accountants and business advisers, has promoted Aaron Phillips to director after being a tax adviser at the firm for the past three years. Previously he has worked at an array of independent practices across the north west and became a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) in 2002. In 2006 he qualified as a chartered tax adviser and became a member of CIOT.
Alan McCrae has been announced as PwC’s new energy (oil and gas) leader in the UK. He was previously energy tax leader across PwC’s UK, European, Middle East and Africa territories where he worked with a range of energy, utility and mining companies advising on international tax structuring. He was also a member of the UK’s Oil Industry Tax Committee.
Duff & Phelps has appointed Allan Graham as managing director in its global restructuring advisory practice in London. He joins Duff & Phelps from KPMG where his 27-year career included 19 years as a restructuring partner. He specialises in advising manufacturing, recruitment, and printing and packaging businesses.
