Moore Kingston Smith has promoted Trushit Patel to partner in its St Albans general practice team. Patel works with owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and mid-corporate groups, advising across sectors including real estate, technology, maritime and professional services. He has extensive technical and commercial experience, and has been with the firm for 18 years. In addition, five staff have been promoted to director, Aayush Arora and Vadym Marks in the corporate audit team, Scott Rhodes in financial services audit, Meagan Mirza in risk advisory and Debra Blacklock in the private client tax team.

CT has promoted Michael Jamieson to partner, in the personal tax team. He joined the firm a year ago as a director, bringing 16 years of in-depth experience as a personal tax adviser and compliance specialist. Over his career he has worked with entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals and owner-managed businesses across a broad range of sectors providing advice to clients on key tax issues as well as support on planning and reporting. As a partner, Jamieson will take on an enhanced leadership role while continuing to focus on supporting personal tax clients.

Leonard Curtis has appointed Colin Mills as its first director of data at the PE-backed corporate restructuring firm. Mills brings over 20 years of experience leading data and AI strategy, spanning financial services, telecomms and healthcare. He will focus on building out the firm’s data infrastructure, driving analytics and automation, developing internal capability and ensuring data processes are robust and secure. Mitchells Roberton has appointed Derek Hanlan as tax director to drive growth of private client services at the Glasgow law firm. Hanlan brings more than 25 years’ experience advising high net worth individuals, families and entrepreneurial clients on complex tax matters. In his new role, Hanlan will lead the firm’s tax services, working closely with the established private client team, advising on tax and planning issues. He is a chartered tax adviser and LLB, and a member of CIOT’s Scottish technical sub-committee. Previously he was an associate director at Armstrong Watson, and prior director of taxation at Craig Corporate, having originally trained at Deloitte.  

FRP Corporate Finance has appointed Scott Ellis as a director in debt advisory. He brings more than 15 years of experience with a focus on asset-based lending and debt advisory, from standard debt raises and refinancing to storied credits and distressed or accelerated debt. Ellis joins from Teneo where he was director, restructuring and debt advisory, having begun his career at Deloitte in corporate audit.

Attune has appointed Laura Page as an accountant in the accounts team and Josephine Sclater as practice manager. Both started in May and were already well known to the partners, having worked alongside the team over several years on an ad hoc basis, and have now joined the firm permanently. Sclater leads operational delivery across the practice, from systems to client onboarding, while Page joins the accounts team.  

BKL has appointed William Aylward as a corporate finance specialist in mergers & acquisitions. He specialises in M&A from planning to completion for midmarket businesses, and also has experience advising distressed, asset-heavy, and early-stage companies, both in the UK and US and Europe. He will work closely with the firm’s specialists in transaction tax, deal advisory and technical accounting to give clients a full service offering. Previously he worked in private equity and corporate finance, including roles at Evelyn Partners and Oaklins S&W, and joins from DFK International where he was director corporate finance.
