Mazars has appointed Vincent Marke as national head of housing, leading a team of over 100 auditors across eight locations. He has over 20 years’ experience in the social housing sector, including five years as finance director of a social housing provider. He joined Mazars as a director in 2016.

Haysmacintyre has hired two directors, Kay Mind and Stephanie Parker, in the private client and trusts team. Mind joins the team from Kreston Reeves, with extensive experience in advising high net worth individuals and their families, together with resident and non-resident trustees, on all UK taxes. She is a Fellow and council member of the Association of Taxation Technicians, and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Parker will head-up the trusts team and joins from accountancy firm Creaseys. Her expertise is managing tax issues surrounding offshore trusts with UK beneficiaries or UK assets, as well as all aspects of inheritance tax.

East Midlands and London based firm, Wright Vigar has promoted six team members, with Pokhin Cheung, Hannah Tomlinson and Oliver Martin made senior managers, and Sue Mossom, Louise Johnson and Rebecca Sneath made senior tax managers.

RSM has appointed Robert Beat as office managing partner (OMP) for its creditor services operation at its London Finsbury Circus office, replacing Duncan Beat who has retired from the firm. Robert Beat has a long and successful track record in creating and implementing creditor-friendly strategies for insolvency management. Over a 25-year period he has built the creditor services business from a small team to its current operation numbering some 70 financial professionals.

Tax investigations specialist Jeff Millington is joining international law firm Withers' London office as tax investigations director. He joins from accountancy firm Smith & Williamson, where he spent eight years and specialises in tax advice and litigation. Prior to moving to the private sector, Millington worked as an inspector at HMRC for 24 years.

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has appointed Richard Lawrence to the Audit & Assurance Council from 1 April 2019. He is an ICAEW fellow and qualified with PwC. He is currently head of accounting & valuation policy at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (RBS), a role he has held since 2017. He has held senior finance roles within RBS, and before that ABN AMRO NV, going back to 2003. He also sits on a number of industry-focused committees at UK Finance and ICAEW.

Faraday Grid, the energy technology company, has appointed Mark Corben as chief financial officer to support the company’s accelerated global growth. He previously spent five years as CFO of Tideway, the investor-owned utility company building the Thames Tideway Tunnel in London. He was part of the executive team which set up the company and he led the process to raise equity and the multi-format debt capital markets programme. He previously worked for 17 years at investment bank UBS focusing on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and capital raising across Europe.
