Fedelma Good has joined PwC as a director in its multi-disciplinary data protection practice in London. Good joins the firm from Barclays where she was director of information strategy and governance, responsible for leading the bank’s preparations for the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Armstrong Watson has appointed Andy Preece as a corporate finance director. Preece has previously held roles with Hitachi Capital Invoice Finance, Metro Bank and more recently Nucleus Commercial Finance. In his new role he will provide businesses with proactive commercial finance advice, from supporting growth objectives and raising capital, to preparing businesses for sale and assisting with succession planning.
Baines Jewitt, a north east based accountancy firm, has welcomed an intake of trainee chartered accountants. Grace Stobbs, Yuexin Jiao and Lewis Emers have all joined the firm to study towards their ACA qualification. Stobbs has joined the firm directly from Durham University where she graduated in accounting and finance. As well as gaining a degree at Shanghai University in economics, Jiao has also studied at the University of Technology in Sydney, University of St Andrews where she gained a master’s degree in finance and the University of Bath where she studied human resource management and consulting. Emers joins after taking on an apprenticeship at another local accountancy firm.
