Career news this week includes two tax partners and a partner appointment at RSM, Larking Gowen promotes an audit director, IFRS Foundation appoints 11 new members to the IFRS Advisory Council
RSM has appointed Mary Buchanan as a director in its Manchester office. She joins from Scapa Group where she was the head of group risk and assurance. She has also worked at two big four firms where she specialised in internal audit and risk assurance. The firm has also recruited two tax partners in its London office. Andrew Robins and Rachel de Souza both join from Royal Bank of Canada where they were co-directors of the bank’s UK tax practice.
Larking Gowen has expanded its Ipswich based team and has promoted Jo Fox to audit director. She specialises in offering advice to both commercial and not for profit clients on matters such as financial reporting, audit and independent examination, as well as providing advice on systems, structures and governance across a wide spectrum of clients. She is also a member of the firm’s tourism team where she offers advice to clients in the tourism, leisure and hospitality sectors.
The Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) has appointed Matthew Vickerstaff as deputy chief executive officer and head of project finance. He will begin his role on 14 November. It is a new post which has been created to bring additional world-class project finance expertise to the IPA. Vickerstaff was previously head of impact investment banking at ClearlySo.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed Marc A. Panucci as deputy chief accountant in the office of the chief accountant. He will lead the activities of the office’s professional practice group, which includes understanding investor and audit committee perspectives and consulting with registrants and auditors on the application of internal control over financial reporting obligations, independence requirements and auditing standards.
The IFRS Foundation has appointed 11 members to the IFRS Advisory Council. The Council comprises over 40 representatives from a wide range of backgrounds and geographic regions. Its role is to advise the IFRS Foundation Trustees and the Board on strategic and technical matters. The new appointments are as follows:
