In this week’s moves and appointments roundup, managing partner promotion and senior appointments at Smith & Williamson, Moore Thompson hires an array of staff, CEO appointment at Signature Private Finance
Smith & Williamson Southampton has promoted Andrew Edmonds to managing partner as well as appointing three senior members to the assurance and business services department. Edmonds takes over from Richard Green who will continue to be an audit partner at the firm. Edmonds has been head of assurance and business services in Southampton since 2011. Rachel Hardy has been appointed as a director, Mark Munro as a senior manager and Leanne Birch as senior business development manager. Hardy has joined the firm from Foresters Friendly Society and has also previously worked for BDO. Munro joins from James Cowper Kreston where he trained as an accountant. Leanne Birch has previously worked for The Prince’s Trust.
Moore Thompson has appointed a handful of staff members to its offices across the east of England. Joe Dickinson, Jordan Wingert and Robert Hutchinson have joined the firm’s Spalding practice where they will continue their training. Rachael Stevenson has also joined the Spalding office as a trainee in the firm’s payroll bureau. Payroll administrator, Elsa Seale, has returned to the firm as payroll administrator in the Wisbech office. Jack Cartwright and James Huggins have also joined the Wisbech office to continue training. Lydia Woods, Jon Barnes and Abbie Spinks have joined the Market Deeping office. Janet Brown has joined Moore Thompson in the newly created role of manager for the firm’s grant and funding services.
Tony Gibertson has become CEO of Signature Private Finance after undertaking the role on an interim basis for the last six months. Signature is majority owned by funds managed by Cabot Square Capital LLP.
Paul Mason, former head of Lomond Advisory, has been appointed as partner at Chiene + Tait to lead its new corporate finance division. Mason has previously held investment banking roles at Deutsche Bank in London followed by spells at Quayle Munro and Brewin Dolphin Scotland. Over the past four years he built up his own business, Lomond Advisory, whose client base will follow him to Chiene + Tait.
