PRAG updates derivative guidance

The Pensions Research Accountants Group (PRAG) has published updated guidance to help practitioners of pension scheme accounts deal with the wide range of derivative contracts which feature in manager portfolios

The industry body said its guidance does not form part of the 2018 Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) but ‘attempts to explain and illustrate’ what is required under it. It does not carry the authority of the SORP.

The publication replaces recently withdrawn guidance issued in 2007 and is available to all members of PRAG through its website

PRAG is a body of accountants working in the pensions industry and the organisation recognised by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) for the publication of accounting guidance through the pensions statement of recommended practice.
