Ray McCann is a consultant to Joseph Hage Aaronson LLP and Charter Tax Consulting Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). He was CIOT president between 2018 and 2019 and member of the CIOT Council until this year. Previously he was partner at Joseph Hare Aaronson and also at New Quadrant Partners and Pinsent Masons. He specialises in private wealth tax matters and on a range of corporate and personal HMRC issues, especially relating to HMRC investigations and tax planning disputes. Until 2006, he was a senior inspector at HMRC (Inland Revenue) where he held a number of high profile investigation and policy roles.
