Regulator slated after £60m client money loss at Axiom Ince

The Solicitors Regulation Authority faces enforcement action over failures to intervene effectively in the run-up to collapse of Axiom Ince law firm

The Legal Services Board has taken enforcement action after an independent review of a string of oversight and governance failures by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) before it finally forced the closure of law firm Axiom Ince Limited.

The review was conducted by Carson McDowell LLP, a law firm in Northern Ireland, which was not regulated by the SRA.
