KPMG has restructured its UK corporate tax practice in order to improve the service it currently offers its clients. The move was done by streamlining management reporting lines thus freeing senior partner time in a bid to help them focus more on clients in the current economic climate. Sue Bonney, who is also KPMG Europe LLP head of tax and head of the KPMG EMA tax group, is to remain acting as head and Jeremy Brittain as chief operating officer, with the top levels of the practice remaining unaltered. The corporate tax practice within the tax and people services department is to be split between the business tax services, headed by Caitriona Hunt, and the international tax Services, led by Simon Palmer. They will act as joint heads of corporate tax. Sue Bonney, head of KPMG tax in the UK, said: 'We started our new financial year on 1st October facing extraordinary times in terms of the external business environment. Responding to the challenges and opportunities we now face means bringing together our most experienced partners to spend more time out in the market with our clients, helping them to get through the current turmoil. 'By restructuring the practice, we are bringing together our partners around particular areas of market focus to deliver on their clients' needs.'
