Restructuring and insolvency practice Quantuma has reported turnover up by 21% in the year to 31 March 2017, and has announced an expansion of its regional offices

Quantuma billed £9.528m in the past financial year which saw appointments to cases including the largest insolvency in the UK legal market when partner Andy Hosking and director Sean Bucknall were appointed administrators to King Wood Mallesons (KWM).

Managing partner Carl Jackson, who founded the firm in 2013, said: ‘To be able demonstrate a 21% growth in what remains a relatively quiet market is outstanding and an absolute testament to the quality of the team we have here at Quantuma.’

Quantuma has opened for business in the north west under the direction of newly-arrived partner Mike Wright, while the Bristol office is moving to larger premises and Southampton office will also move for similar reasons later this month.

In total the firm now has seven offices in London, Southampton, Marlow, Watford, Brighton, Bristol and Manchester. The firm’s headcount now stands at 96 up from 72 at the same time last year.

Jackson said that further recruitment at senior level would be announced as the year progressed and the firm was still looking to grow across the UK.

‘As with Manchester and our recruitment of Mike Wright to lead our expansion in the north west, our growth is likely to be people-led rather than purely geographical for the sake of it,’ he said.
