Mid-market specialist RSM has opened a new office in Cambridge as part of moves to strengthen and expand its operations throughout East Anglia, in a bid to become the leading advisory firm to the middle market in the region

The firm says its new office, at City House on Hills Road, will place it in the heart of the city's thriving business community close to Cambridge station. It will house RSM's existing economic consultancy practice and provide a hub for the firm's other service lines to expand their presence in the city and surrounding areas.

Laragh Jeanroy will take on the role of RSM's office managing partner in Cambridge, in addition to her role as head of the Bury St Edmunds office.

Mark Taylor, RSM's regional managing partner for the central region said: 'Cambridge has one of the fastest growth rates of any British city, and it is hugely important globally as a centre of technology and research excellence.

‘The growth of our team in East Anglia is a key element of our wider business strategy. I very much look forward to working with Laragh to grow the team and our brand presence locally.’

Jeanroy, office managing partner in Cambridge said: ‘Geographically, the Cambridgeshire market forms an important part of our wider regional strategic growth plan. Having that physical presence in Cambridge will act as the enabler to grow, and to provide an on-site capability to clients based in and around Cambridge.’

RSM UK, ranked in seventh place in Accountancy’s league table of firms, reported revenues of £319m for the year ending 31 March 2017 and has over 3,800 partners and staff operating from 35 locations throughout the UK.  It is a member firm of RSM International, a network which spans over 120 countries, 800 offices and more than 43,000 people, with a fee income of $5.1bn (£4bn).
