Scammers target investors in insolvent companies

The Insolvency Service has issued a warning to investors who have lost money in collapsed businesses to carefully check letters requesting personal data

The fake letters claim to be offering investment recovery and look as if they have been sent out by the Insolvency Service purporting to be official communications with the official logo and a bar code. On the surface the letter looks quite convincing.

The scammers try to defraud companies by stating that the letter has been sent by investigation and enforcement services and gives a fake HMRC address with a sham postcode without any numbers, for example BXS SAB.
