Iain Fraser and Tom MacLennan, partners in RSM Tenon, have been appointed joint administrators of Scottish specialist energy engineering businesses, Mowat Technical and Design Services (MTDS).

Founded in Caithness in 1997, MTDS has a turnover of around £2m and employs 26 staff. The business has developed a particular expertise in the design, commissioning, installation and testing of plant and equipment for the oil and gas, nuclear, hydro and renewable industries.

Iain Fraser, joint administrator and RSM Tenon partner, said: 'business has a blue chip client base and a strong pipeline of potential work, together with the valuable IP that has already been developed for its exciting hydro-based power system.'
