Search for FRC chair leaves regulator facing challenging future

As the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) works on plans for the transformation to the new governing body, the Audit Regulation and Governance Authority (ARGA) it is still looking for a permanent chairperson and a number of board positions remain vacant

Interim chair Keith Skeoch said: ‘There have been challenges this year as we have moved to transform our governance structure and fill key vacancies. The appointment of board members is the responsibility of the government, and it is disappointing that recruitment to the board has taken longer than we may have liked.’

There are also a number of senior vacancies at board level at the regulator.
