SRA Accounts Rules 2019: client money

With the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s new slimmed down client money rules now in force effect, reporting accountants need to demonstrate greater professional judgment when assessing compliance, says Croner-i’s Kate Beeston ACA

In 2019 the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) introduced its Standards and Regulations, allowing solicitors greater flexibility in how they work and making it easier for people to get help. These came into effect from 25 November 2019 and replace the previous SRA Handbook as well as the 2011 Accounts Rules (the 2011 Rules).
