S&W, the sixth largest accountancy firm in the UK, was previously based at Portwall Place in the city and moved to the new office following the recent decision to split from Evelyn Partners.

The 170-strong Bristol team has moved into the new development at 111 Victoria Street, close to Bristol Temple Meads train station. The new office provides a first-class working environment for staff, while clients will benefit from a suite of meeting rooms and event spaces, including an outdoor terrace with views across the city. 

Helen Bassett, regional managing partner of S&W’s Bristol office said: ‘Coming hot on the heels of the launch of our new brand, we are delighted to have re-located our expanding Bristol team to the prestigious EQ development.

‘The move provides a launchpad for us to continue our regional growth strategy, supporting our ambition to help more clients in the South West better manage their personal and business affairs.

‘Our new office at EQ provides a contemporary and smart working environment for our people and clients in a dynamic area of Bristol.

‘The fantastic events spaces at the development will allow us to continue our busy schedule of seminars for clients and the wider local business community.

The EQ building has been designed to meet the highest standards of environmental and energy efficiency, including target accreditations of BREEAM Outstanding and Targeted EPC A. The building is all electric with solar panels, rainwater is collected and reused, and there is an aim of zero waste being sent to landfill.

S&W is the new name for the top 10 accountancy firm which was rebranded following the decision to part ways with Evelyn Partners earlier this year. The S&W identity combines the heritage of Smith & Williamson, which was founded in 1881, with a new brand and philosophies to cement its leadership position in the accountancy mid-market.

The Bristol office is highly active in the local community and raised nearly £18,000 for a range of charitable causes in 2024 while also participating in numerous community events.

Colleagues regularly contribute to volunteering and community and most recently supported Great Western Air Ambulance Charity to locate additional defibrillators in the city, collected sanitary products for Period Friendly Places to help beat period poverty in Bristol and worked with Spear to welcome a group of local young people into the office to help prepare them for the world of work.
