The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group (LITRG) has responded to the current economic crisis by producing a guide for those feeling the pinch. The short electronic guide covers redundancy, unemployment, tax credits, state benefits and other effects of the downturn. The LITRG, an initiative of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, gives advice to those unrepresented in the tax system. John Andrews, LITRG chairman, said: 'Many people are being affected by the current economic slowdown through job losses, reductions in income and increased living costs. 'Now, more than ever, it is important that people claim all that they are entitled to. It is very important that people who find themselves in this situation let Revenue & Customs know that their circumstances have changed.'
