Tax advisers face tougher code of conduct to curb aggressive planning
Moves to tighten the code of conduct for tax advisers are understood to be at an advanced stage with the professional institutes keen to strengthen the rules on acceptable tax planning to avert the imposition of regulatory requirements for tax advisers by the government.
It is one year since the Chancellor George Osborne and then chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander told the accounting professional bodies to tighten up the rules or the government would consider regulatory framework.
