Luciana Akanbi, 38, and Femi Akanbi, 51, were both jailed for three years and nine months each at Woolwich Crown Court after using the passport numbers, national insurance numbers, and bank details of 40 Transport for London (TfL) employees to submit 139 tax rebate claims to HMRC totalling £649,000.

The court heard that Luciana, who had worked in the HR department at TfL for five years from 2017 to 2022, accessed the employee database and stole the personal information of 107 TfL staff.
