Trump corks tariffs on Scottish whisky ‘in honour’ of King’s US trip

Donald Trump says US will remove tariffs and restrictions on all Scottish whisky as industry states it was ‘badly impacted by recent trade tariff decisions’

‘The King and Queen got me to do something that nobody else was able to do, without hardly even asking’, the US president said after the first state visit by a British monarch in nearly twenty years.

The visit has been seen by many as a move to revitalise the relationship between the UK and US following recent diplomatic fallouts.

The trip ended with president Doanld Trump posting to social media stating he was dropping charges on Scottish whisky.
