The latest VAT issues from first

Following the inconsistent VAT tribunal decisions in the cases
of InsuranceWide.com Services Limited and Trader Media Group Limited,
the High Court has now produced a consistent ruling on the two almost
identical services involved. In general this went in favour of the
taxpayer in both cases. However, the decision was limited to answering
a specific question rather than deciding the cases as such. The answer
to that question could be sufficient to decide the cases, and HM Revenue
& Customs might have accepted that this was the case for these
two taxpayers.
