Restructuring specialist Zolfo Cooper LLP has announced plans to capitalise on its presence in other areas of activity, with the formation of a dedicated advisory services practice to grow the firm’s offerings to current and future clients.
Simon Freakley, chief executive of Zolfo Cooper, said: ‘Our non-restructuring offering has been growing for some years now as we have responded to changes in the business environment and the demands of our increasingly diverse client base. The creation of a dedicated advisory services practice which can not only support our internationally renowned and highly successful restructuring services business but also continue to win, and deliver, high profile engagements in its own right is a logical part of our growth.’
The new practice brings together seven partners and around 30 staff and will be headed by Graeme Smith. The specialist teams which will now operate under the single umbrella of advisory services are debit advisory, led by Jacco Brouwer; forensic and litigation support, led by Diane Hughes; pensions advisory, led by Gary Squires; Zolfo Cooper capital management, which is headed up by Majharul Haque and Mark Williams; and Zolfo Cooper corporate finance, led by Paul Hemming.
Graeme Smith, lead partner for advisory Services, said: ‘Today's announcement shows our commitment to developing our complementary offerings. In recent years we have added forensic and litigation support, debt advisory and capital management skills to our existing corporate finance and pensions advisory teams and we will most certainly consider new opportunities as the practice, and our business as a whole, continues to grow.’
