AAB in ‘transformational’ merger with £50m Kreston Reeves

Private equity backed AAB Group signs partnership deal with Kreston Reeves, creating a merged firm with potential £200m in combined revenue and 1,800 staff

AAB and Kreston Reeves have finalised ‘landmark deal’ that will take the combined business beyond £200m in annual revenue, marking a significant step in both firms’ long-term growth strategy. The combined business will have 1,800 staff and around 100 partners with over 20 offices in the UK as well as sites in Ireland.

Under the arrangements of the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval by end of Q1, AAB has invested in Kreston Reeves, supported by their private equity backer Goldman Sachs Alternatives, significantly enhancing the group’s ‘scale, geographic reach and service capability’.

AAB described the deal as ‘transformational’ and the largest the group has completed after first securing private equity backing five years ago. This is the third transaction since the group changed PE backer to Goldman Sachs Alternatives at the end of last year, and adds to the previous 15 deals secured since 2021.
