On 30 January 2019, the government passed the Accounts and Reports (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/145). This statutory instrument (SI) removes references to the EU European Economic Area (EEA) within the Companies Act 2006 (CA 2006), as well as other supporting regulations with effect from implementation day.
From implementation day, references to the EU or EEA in the Large and Medium-sized Companies and Groups (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 are replaced by references to the UK.
