Former Tesco executives plead not guilty to charges over £263m misstatement

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has confirmed that three former Tesco directors will face fraud charges in relation to the accounting scandal that hit the supermarket in 2014.

At a brief hearing on 22 September at Westminster Magistrates Court, the three defendants, former UK finance director Carl Rogberg, UK managing director Christopher Bush and food commercial director John Scouler pleaded not guilty to one count of fraud by abuse of position and one count of false accounting. The alleged activity occurred between February 2014 and September 2014.
