The Association of Taxation Technicians has announced that David Stedman will take over from Annie Bailey as its president for 2009/10. Stedman said: 'I am keen to be involved in the many issues that our members face and require advice upon, particularly in the current challenging economic environment with the prospect of a general election within my term of office, which will undoubtedly lead to more tax legislation'. Stedman was previously the chairman of the member and student services committee and has served on the Joint Standards Committee since 2002, becoming chairman in 2007/8.
