Audit firms banned from working for Russian companies

Auditors have been barred from providing audit services to Russian companies until at least July 2023

The new measures came into effect on 16 December and saw an extension of the existing sanctions to audit firms, and other professional services providers relating to auditing services, IT consultancy, architectural, engineering, transactional legal advisory, advertising and agricultural businesses.

The rules extend to all companies established in any part of the UK, and subsidiaries of UK companies operating elsewhere in the world.
