Monitoring Group plans overhaul of global auditing standard setting system

The Monitoring Group, the overarching oversight board for international audit standard setting, is consulting on various options to enhance the governance, accountability and oversight of the international audit standard setting process.

This could see a change to the role of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and creation of a single audit and ethical standards setting body to replace the current split structure.
