Governance review call after Bank of England ex hedge fund hire

A call for a review of the code of conduct of the Bank of England’s (BoE)Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has been made by Treasury select committee chair, Andrew Tyrie MP, amid concerns over conflicts of interest following the appointment of a former hedge fund boss.

This follows a spat over the appointment of newest MPC member, Gertjan Vlieghe, who took up the role on 1 September.
