Baker Tilly International has shaken up its leadership team by creating a chief quality officer (CQO) role, which the network says is part of a move to strengthen its global office team in London and push forward its long-term strategic vision
Paul Ginman, previously the network’s chief operating officer (COO) and technical director, is named in as CQO with responsibility for overseeing the expansion of the network’s quality assurance programme. Ginman was closely involved in the development and implementation of ‘global focus’, the network’s common audit methodology.
Ben Lloyd will assume the role of COO and will be responsible for all operational and financial elements of the business. He is currently the network’s regional director for Asia Pacific, based in Melbourne, and will relocate to London at the beginning of December.
Ted Verkade, president and CEO of Baker Tilly International, said the moves reflected its ‘ambitious growth strategy’ and the fact it is operating in ‘an extremely competitive environment’.
‘I, and the international board of directors, firmly believe that by creating a new leadership position that supports the continuous improvement and integration of quality practices across our network significantly enhances our ability to delivery long-term sustainable growth.
‘Paul has been involved with the network since 1989. His extensive experience in designing and implementing quality control procedures, and his knowledge of the network and the wider profession, make him uniquely qualified for this role,’ Verkade said.
Baker Tilly International is ranked tenth by fee income in the Accountancy league table of international accountancy networks and is made up of over 28,000 people in 165 member firms in 141 countries.
